Taylor Blazina
Birth Assistant, Doula, EMT

Hi Everyone!

My name is Taylor Blazina and I am the office manager and a back-up birth assistant for Sky Valley Midwifery in the Ellensburg location.

I grew up in Edmonds Washington and moved to Ellensburg to attend Central Washington University. I graduated from CWU in 2017 with a degree in Bussiness Development and a certification in emergency medicine. During my years as a student, I met my husband who is a local of Ellensburg and the rest was history! I practiced as an EMT up until the delivery of our first child in 2019, whom we chose to deliver under the care of a midwife in Spokane. Upon the delivery of our son, I knew in my heart that midwifery was a career path that I was meant to pursue in some form or another. In 2020, I applied and was accepted into the Midwives College of Utah. Shortly after my acceptance into school, I became pregnant with our second baby. I immediately called up April and had excellent care with Sky Valley Midwifery! Not only was it an excellent reminder of why I so dearly love midwifery, but it showed me just how amazing of a team Sky Valley is. I started my preceptorship with Sky Valley in the summer of 2021, and really enjoyed my time learning from April and the team. In the beginning of 2024, I made the decision to set aside my schooling and step back into an administrative role in the company to allow for some more time with my children at the young ages they are.

I am very passionate about holistic health and wellness and believe wholeheartedly that every person deserves autonomy when bringing their babies into the world and the midwifery model of care supports both of these beliefs.

When I am not working, I can be found at home with my family puttering around our hobby farm. Some of my favorite activities include gardening, dirt biking riding, camping, spending time with my horses, and cooking from scratch.

I could not be more excited to get to know and serve such as beautiful community as this valley that we all call home. I look forward to getting to know you all throughout your own midwifery experiences!
